2-What are Teams?

10C-2.JPG Teams are groups of two or more people who interact and influence each other, are mutually accountable for achieving common goals associated with organizational objectives, and perceive themselves as a social entity within an organization.  All teams are developed in order to fulfill some purpose, whether it is providing a service, developing a product, or making a decision.  The individual members that make up a team are all interdependent and when they interact with each other they influence each other.  Teams can be permanent or just come together around a specific task and then disband once it is completed.  Teams can interact in person or via phone or electronic communication.

Compared with individuals working alone, teams tend to make better decisions, make better products and services due to more knowledge and expertise, and increase employee engagement.
